From Uji to your door. No warehouse in between.

Imported matcha can sit in an overseas warehouse long before it reaches a cup, and every week on a shelf dulls the color and flattens the umami.

MAJICHA never does. Every order ships straight from Japan to you, so the tin you open tastes the way it did in Uji.

Customer questions & answers

Q:  Which tin should a total beginner buy?

A:  Shougetsu. It has gentle umami and light bitterness, made for people who thought they didn't like matcha because their first one was too bitter.

Q:  Where does my matcha ship from?

A:  Directly from Japan. Orders are never stored in an overseas warehouse, so every tin reaches you fresh.

Q:  Which one is best for lattes?

A:  Shoukun. It's bolder on purpose, so the flavor holds up through milk, cream and sugar. It's also the best value per cup and comes in a larger 50g pouch, perfect for baking too.

Q:  What's the difference between Gesshou and Meisui?

A:  Both are high-end premium grade. Gesshou is balanced and works for daily drinking or casual guests. Meisui is fuller-bodied with more umami, the closest to ceremonial in the range, ideal for hosting or a home tea ceremony.

Q:  How do I prepare it?

A:  Sift 2g of matcha, add 80 to 100ml of water at 80°C, and whisk vigorously for about 15 seconds until a fine foam forms. Use fresh, filtered water.

Q:  How many cups does one tin make?

A:  At 2g per bowl, a 20g tin makes about 10 bowls and the 50g Shoukun pouch makes about 25.

Q:  Is there a discount for buying more?

A:  Yes. Every tin comes in a 10-pack at 10% or more off, the easiest way to stock up for a cafe, the office or a daily habit.

Q:  How should I store it?

A:  Keep it in a cool, dry place away from heat, humidity and strong smells to protect the color and flavor.
